The history of the choir

Cosedia Cantabile choir of Coutances the country, is a 1901 association headed by a board of 8 members including the chair is Monika Gunz Arnaud, the secretary, treasurer and Ninon Risser, Monique Rousseau.

Birth the choir Cantabile Cosedia is the joint effort of several people in two choirs old Cecilia Cantat and field. The articles were signed January 5, 1996.

The choir now has about fifty singers who gather every Thursday evening. The ensemble is led by a choir teacher at the School of Music in Coutances, Fabrice Larcher and occasionally assisted by a pianist.

The program is very diverse and covers both songs of the Renaissance, traditional songs, spirituals, classical or operettas. It seeks to give 2 different programs year.

Cantabile Choir Cosedia not hesitate to join with other choirs. Thus she has sung several times with the choir of the Music School of Cherbourg, and in 2004 she joined the choir of the Music School of Vire.

In 2008/2009, the cooperation with the Symphonic Orchestra of Bayeux a reality with three concerts around the project "Journey to the afterlife."

Sunday of Pentecost, Cosedia Cantabile presented annually presents a program of classical music for chorus and orchestra:

2008: Brahms (Begräbnisgesang, 4 Songs for female chorus), Purcell (Music for the Funeral of Queen Mary)
2009: Journey to the Hereafter: Holst (Ode to Death), Brahms (Begräbnisgesang)
