like you, and obviously 99% of the sphere geek world, we stayed ON-CUL cataclysmic news tickers fallen on the planet in the late afternoon of Monday, August 31, 2009: For
$ 4 billion, the Disney group has acquired Marvel Entertainment. A huge deal apparently negotiated in the utmost secrecy, which took absolutely everyone by surprise.
Let there be no mistake: a page in the history of capital in the entertainment industry is being written with this spectacular
redemption and we do not yet measure its implications staggering.
Disney puts his hand on the famous Marvel catalog estimated at between 4000 and 5000
characters (ok, but how much of that figure are really commercially viable?). Marvel will in turn, rely on the now immense firepower of distribution networks to publicize Disney comics (point of sale, web, mobile ...). Upcoming movies from Marvel Studios will also perhaps a contribution money but, again, of the relentless war machine Disney promotion and international distribution.
